Jessica Coscia

Jessica CosciaJessica joined the Bashyam Shah team as Marketing & Office Administrator. She is particularly excited about the opportunity to work with Bashyam Shah LLP, because of the nature of work, the diverse staff and the work environment. Jessica thrives from close collaboration with others who share her passion for serving the community. She believes wholeheartedly that the most effective results stem from a staff whose diverse makeup mirrors that of the population it is designed to serve.

Throughout her career she has used her research skills to analyze complex issues under pressure, and to effectively serve as a community educator and advocate through various media and communication platforms.

While working as a U.S. Congressional Aide and Immigration Caseworker, she enjoyed researching and analyzing laws, policies, procedures and systems of governmental agencies to successfully answer and resolve constituent’s immigration questions. Later, as Community Relations Director and News Presenter for NC’s 1st Spanish-language television station, Univision 40, she hosted and produced award-winning educational programming for the weekly public affairs show, monthly news magazine, and she anchored the nightly news briefs. Jessica’s interest in public education and access to health care led her to the NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund (HWTF) where she coordinated and managed community education and media outreach efforts and planned statewide events supporting HWTF’s preventive health initiatives. She most recently worked for NBC 17 & where she focused her outreach efforts on Triangle-area schools in an effort to provide them with local media support by highlighting the people and programs making a difference in education.

After a successful career in media and communications, she is interested in blending her passions for multi-media communication with law and public interests to gain a new level of professional fulfillment and success.

Being of Puerto Rican-Italian descent, Jessica is fully bilingual and bicultural and holds a B.A. in Mass Communications/Journalism with a minor in Spanish/Latin American Studies from Peace College.
